JET Magazine launched its 2007 African- American Church Gift Program
in February, making the first stop at the House of Hope in Chicago.
Participating sponsors were Especially Yours and Luster Products,
Inc.
On Saturday, February 17, JET Magazine participated in the Salem
Baptist Church of Chicago’s “From This Day Forward” Bridal Expo,
held at the House of Hope, where Illinois state Senator the Rev.
James T. Meeks serves as pastor. JET gift bags were distributed
to all women in attendance (approximately 275). Contents included
a JET gift, a shopper’s guide with a sneak preview of spring beauty
and fashion products from Especially Yours, and full-size hair products
of Renutrients, which is a new hair care line from Luster Products.
This free event, an exposition of various wedding vendors, presented
seminars on relationships, showcased the latest in bridal gown selections
and wedding cakes, as well as offered give-a-ways and raffle prizes
for the bridal show participants. Especially Yours raffled a $350
gift certificate for a mother of a bride-to-be to use toward the
purchase of her dress and shoes. This quality wig and apparel company
also gave away hair pieces for 20 brides to wear on their special
day. Luster Products raffled a beautiful gift basket complete with
full-size hair care products of their entire new line for one special
bride-to-be.
Other stops scheduled for the JET church gift program include the
70th Anniversary celebration at the Metropolitan Missionary Baptist
Church in Milwaukee, Rev. Willie D. Wanzo Sr., pastor; Brothers
Keeper Outreach Ministries in Chicago Heights, IL; Apostle Dr. William
McCoy, pastor; and New Birth Kingdom Ministries International, Chicago,
Eld. Samuel Sams, pastor.
JET Magazine will complete its first series of the African-American
Church Gift Program in March of this year. The second series for
the year will begin in the fall of 2007.
